Nefesh B'Nefesh provides comprehensive employment services, including:

  • Providing you with information about the Israeli job market.
  • Assisting you in rewriting your resume, to meet the expectations of Israeli employers.
  • Giving you contacts in Israel in your field.
  • Offering consultations prior to your Aliyah, in North America, the UK and Israel.
  • Identifying job opportunities.
  • Providing job placement services.
  • Running career-oriented workshops, seminars and training programs.
  • Assisting with professional licensing.
  • Offering general career guidance.
  • Speaking with students who are planning on making Aliyah.

In addition to the services that Nefesh B'Nefesh provides, the following Aliyah organizations and government offices also provide employment assistance for Olim:

  • AACI: For American and Canadians only. AACI provides career counseling, resume writing assistance, information about networking contacts, details of licensing requirements and training programs, job leads, employment seminars & workshops, etc. For more information, phone: 972-2-566-1181 or email: info@aaci.org.il.
  • Merkaz Magshimim: Merkaz Magshimim career counselors help you prepare a resume in Hebrew, search for jobs, and prepare for job interviews. Sign up for an appointment at meida@themerkaz.org. For additional information, call 02 561 9165 or check their web site at www.themerkaz.org.
  • Lishkat Taasuka (Unemployment Office): Provides information about job openings in your field. In Jerusalem contact: Lishkat Taasuka, 5th Floor of (new) Central Bus Station, Jerusalem. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 – 11:30 AM and 12:30 – 2:00 PM; or Monday and Wednesday, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Phone: 02 501 3111 (Etti and Bilha speak English). For a full listing of Lishkat Taasuka locations throughout Israel, see http://www.taasuka.gov.il/branches.asp. Note: Lishkat HaTaasuka maintains two different sections, one that assists individuals who have a post-high school academic degree ("Academa'im" in Hebrew), and one that assists everyone else. If you do have an academic degree, bring a copy of your diploma to your first meeting with Lishkat HaTaasuka.
  • Gvahim: The Gavahim project's mission is to encourage a growing number of talented professionals to make Aliyah by assisting graduates from foreign universities with the job hunt. Gvahim charges a fee for some of their services. For more information see:

  • Jerusalem Municipal Employment Center For Olim: Placement of job seekers of all types; no academic degree necessary Service is provided to Olim who meet the following criteria: You live in Jerusalem or would consider moving to Jerusalem if you found a job there (if you want to work in Jerusalem but are not interested in living in Jerusalem, you do not qualify for assistance); and you are an Oleh for less than 5 years or you are here more than 5 years but do not speak fluent Hebrew. For details speak to Nitsana Reznik at 02-629-5388/89 or email olimtech@netvision.net.il. The office is openedSunday, Monday and Wednesday 9 am – 3 pm.
  • Merkaz Hachvana L'Taasuka (Vocational Training Center): Merkazei Hachvana L'Taasuka provide assistance with job placement, resume writing, learning to use the computer in Hebrew and interviewing in the Israeli workplace. The service is free for Olim who have been Israeli citizens for less than 10 years. The centers are located at the following addresses:
